FTI Healthcare’s Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program is a multi-disciplinary approach to improving the completeness and specificity of clinical documentation to allow appropriate capture of patient severity. At the core of the Clinical Documentation Integrity (“CDI”), FTI Healthcare customizes the process and training of the hospitals’ designated clinical documentation team- physicians, documentation specialists, RN’s and HIM coding specialists.
The implementation and training phases of CDI is the most rigorous phase of the Program. During the course of this phase, the hospital team members will be trained on key coding and documentation issues affecting demonstrated severity of illness and risk of mortality. FTI Healthcare’s approach is backed by our Clinical Documentation System (CDS), a flexible physician and coder education and documentation support toolkit. CDS educates providers on the required clinical issues to resolve revenue integrity requirements in order to achieve compliant outcomes. With our deep clinical and technical expertise, we evaluate clinical documentation effectiveness at critical steps of the Revenue Cycle.
